CLASS LOCATION:

This class splits time between Room 132 and the Gymnasium. (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday are Gym days)

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Components of Fitness provides students with introductory skills and knowledge needed to pursue interests and careers in Exercise Science. These skills are used by personal trainers, coaches, strength and conditioning specialists, exercise physiologists, physical therapists, athletic trainers, and sports equipment designers.

The coursework examines the effects of exercise and physical activity on people in order to optimize their physical and mental health. Students will examine their own abilities in order to determine plans for achieving their own fitness goals, as well as creating fitness programs for clients based on individualized needs.

GRADING POLICY:

  • Assignments are expected to be completed in class. If an assignment is not completed during class, it is expected to be submitted the following day.
  • Quizzes will be given on Fridays. You will need to schedule with me to take a quiz if you are absent on a Friday.
