Course Description:

• This course fulfills a .5 credit in Fine and Performing Arts. This is a performance based course. The majority of your grade will be based on your performance of memorized monologues, collaborative scene work, and the development of dramatic vocal and physical skills.  There will be written work regarding the characters you will be playing and the playwrights who created these characters as well as theater vocabulary  Absences will have an effect on your grade.  TAn outside performance project may be a component of your grade.

Expectations

1. Be here and be on time.  Class begins at 7:20a.m.
2. Observe all safety and use regulations of the Auditorium.  This list will be discussed the first days of class.
3. Respect others.  This is a performance class and many people will be acting for the first time before an audience.  I expect appropriate audience behavior during all performances. This includes theater etiquette.
4. Respect yourself.  Believe that you have something of value to bring to class.
5. Be responsible for your actions.  You are responsible for making up missed performances and notes, getting absences excused, notifying me of prearranged absences, etc....... 
6. All other Hazen High School rules apply in this classroom. 

Grading Policy:

Late scenes/assignments are not accepted. You must be prepared to perform on the performance date. Any make-up scenes for absences will be performed at my discretion and convenience. Any unexcused absence will result in  a score of zero for any scene/assignment due or given on that day.
