CLASS LOCATION:

This class splits time between Room 132 and the Gymnasium.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Components of Fitness provides students with introductory skills and knowledge needed to pursue interests and careers in Exercise Science. These skills are used by personal trainers, coaches, strength and conditioning specialists, exercise physiologists, physical therapists, athletic trainers, and sports equipment designers.

The coursework examines the effects of exercise and physical activity on people in order to optimize their physical and mental health. Students will examine their own abilities in order to determine plans for achieving their own fitness goals, as well as creating fitness programs for clients based on individualized needs.

GRADING POLICY:

  • Assignments will be kept open until June 20th at MIDNIGHT. You are able to turn in any unsubmitted and resubmitted work until this time for up to full credit. Anything turned in after June 20, 2025 will not be graded. You must contact me via email if there are any concerns when getting close to this due date.  
  • Quizzes will be kept open until June 17th at MIDNIGHT. You will be able to take quizzes or make quiz revisions until this time for up to full credit. *You cannot receive extra credit if you take the quiz late.
