Course Information
In biology, students study a variety of life processes and learn how different organisms meet the challenges of living in their environment. Major biological concepts include homeostasis, energy transfer and use, the relationship between structure and function, and change over time. Students will also participate in hands on scientific laboratory activities. Students will be given assignments which include command terms from the International Baccalaureate (IB) program which are defined as follows:
Assessments (70%) Quizzes, Tests, Exams
Classwork (30%) Daily assignments & activities
- All students are expected to participate in classwork. Incomplete assignments will receive partial credit (minimum score 60%). Late assignments will be penalized (5% per day, minimum score 70%). Assignments will be excused from grading if absences are excused on Skyward; however, students are responsible for catching up on all learning topics missed.
- Quizzes/Tests may be retaken, highest score kept up to maximum score of 85% or average of two scores if higher. No retest on final exam.

A: 100 - 94% A-: <94 - 90% B+: <90 - 87% B: <87 - 84% B-: <84 - 80% C+: <80 – 77% C: <77 - 74% C-: <74 – 70% D+: <70 - 67% D: <67 – 60% F: <60%
