ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS 9-B (H)
Objectives
This course is designed using the Washington State/Common Core standards for English Language Arts.
Students will be able to:
- read, analyze, and think critically about literary texts
- apply the writing process to communicate ideas effectively
- analyze the figurative and connotative meaning of words
- speak clearly and persuasively

- Your own independent reading text (at all times)
- Various short stories, poetry, and non-fiction texts
- Book Club Selections
Materials (bring these to class every day)
- notebook
- Pencil, pen, highlighter
- The text that the class is currently reading
- Chrome book and charger
Attendance
Attendance is critical to success. The most important thing is to come to class every day!
