Course Description: This course provides an alternate route to achieve math credit and is taken in place of a required academic class. The academic goal of the course is for you to gain mathematical skills including building knowledge of mathematical concepts, procedures, and practices. Additionally, I want you to build confidence in yourself as math learner and to build relationships with others in the class. We will focus on Algebraic skills that will allow you to increase your confidence and abilities as a mathematics student. We will be using the Core Focus Curriculum published by SMC Curriculum.
Course Objectives:
- Solve multistep equations
- Simplify multistep expressions
- Graph linear equations
- Create equations for linear equations from graphs, tables, and story problems
- introduction to non-linear equations
