Course Information
Course Description and Course Objectives:
This is a preparatory course in basic Algebra concepts. The course will center around four big ideas. These are:
- Review of fundamental math skills from previous math courses.
- Preview of various algebraic functions in all 4 representations (words, equations, graphs, and tables) taught in Algebra 2.
- Building study strategies pertinent for success in higher level math courses.
- Throughout the school year students will further their understanding in problem solving and work with their peers in a cooperative learning environment.
School Provided Resources: Algebra 1, 8th ed. Lial, Hornsby, and McGinnis.
