Course Information
Welcome to Algebra Fundamentals! This is the first class of the algebra sequence. Upon completion of the class students will be better prepared for the algebra on the math SBA (Smarter Balance Assessment). Students will be able to pass the class if they put in the effort to do so. This means doing the work and participating in the required activities. If a student is having difficulty doing these things, please contact me so we can discuss how best to help the student succeed. I encourage parent and family involvement in helping to improve a student’s performance. Below are more details on the class content.
Course Objectives:
- Exploration of linear functions.
- Examining what it means for two expressions to be equivalent
- Explain, justify and evaluate our reasoning as we strategize methods for solving
- Create equations and inequalities, systems of equations, and graphs to solve problems in the modeling cycle.
- modeling real-world scenarios with equations and functions.
