Course Information

Course Description

What makes Financial Algebra different from any other algebra course? Money!! Whether you are fascinated by money or simply recognize that money is necessary in the day-to-day conduct of your life, we will be exploring many concepts related to this topic.

In this course, you will be gaining knowledge and developing skills that will assist you in understanding how money is used both in business and for your personal well-being. How do you earn money? How do you save money? How do you spend money? How do you safeguard your money? How do you put money to work for you and your future?

We will follow a similar routine most weeks. We use a Financial Algebra textbook, which I have included pdf sections of in our Canvas course. Each week, we will work from a new chapter of the textbook. Each chapter will have a section of vocabulary words as well as math problems, typically assigned Monday and due Wednesday.  We will also have a weekly project that is matching to our life math. This assignment is due the following Sunday.

Grading Policy (late work, etc)

The grade is made up of 40% of tests and 60% of Homework and classwork.  The late work won't be accepted.
