Course Information
Welcome to General Mathematics! This is the first class of resource support for students approaching algebra. Upon completion of the class students will be better prepared to enter either General Mathematics 2 or Algebra Readiness. Students will be able to pass the class if they put in the effort to do so. This means doing the work and participating in the required activities. If a student is having difficulty doing these things, please contact me so we can discuss how best to help the student succeed. I encourage parent and family involvement in helping to improve a student’s performance. Below are more details on the class content.
Course Objectives:
- Mastering using the Order of Operations
- Master solving one-step equations
- Develop the skill of solving two-step equations
- Explain, justify and evaluate our reasoning as we strategize methods for solving
