Required: Thematic project and look book development in small
· In small groups, complete the theme development project · On your own update your look books
2024 Theme and Cover: Pre-pandemic, it was pretty normal for schools to plan next year’s cover/theme in the spring. Picture coming back to school with all of that taken care of. If you work with a plant artist, we can schedule a virtual appointment for this spring. See attached theme development project. And here is link to the ’24 studio covers: https://resources.yearbookavenue.jostens.com/studio-covers-litho/
Start designing layouts for next year. Even though the site for 2024 isn't live yet (however, it will be soon) you and your staff can start designing layouts and save them as Templates in this year's site. When the 2024 site goes live, you will be able to open those templates there. Maybe have them check out the Look Book for ideas, or Pinterest, or our great Layout Galley. Start gathering those ideas and putting them down on paper now.
Look Book Inspiration: Search the Look Book and other school’s yearbooks for NEW coverage ideas. Try to include new things in next year’s book and maybe change it up a bit – getting rid of the spreads for which it was really hard to gather content. If you don’t have the printed version, here is the digital version: https://issuu.com/jostens/docs/look_book_2023
· Make 3 Lists: 1. Don’t ever do these things again. 2. Do more of these things to help the staff engage and make production go smoother next year. 3. Things we want to try next year to make our book better and staff stronger.
