Course Description

Geometry is a two-trimester course which serves to formalize and extend students' geometric experiences from previous courses. Students will explore geometric transformations, angle measurements, similarity and congruence, and right triangle trigonometry. In addition, students will study probability, polygons, circles, and solids, and utilize inductive and deductive reasoning to construct formal mathematical proofs. Earning credits in both Geometry A and B is a graduation requirement.

 

Attendance

Zoom attendance has no directly impact on students' grades.  

On every school day, students should submit their daily assignment at least 1 time by 3PM to be marked as present in class.   

 

Assignments 

Teachers will post 2 to 4 assignments on Canvas Module per week for students to strengthen their understanding and skills.

Students are often given 10 attempts and 2 weeks to earn the highest grade possible on every assignment..

Students should submit every assignment at least 1 time by 3PM on the day that it is assigned for attendance.

Teachers are available to help students correcting their mistakes

 

Friday Assessments

Every Friday, there will be either a test, quiz or performance task for students to complete between 11AM and 2:50PM.

Students must complete the Friday assessments on time to be marked as present in class for Fridays.

Grading Policy

Grades are usually updated on Skyward every other Fridays.

Biweekly progress report will be sent to students and guardians' emails as listed on Skyward.

Students need to earn at least 40% or a D grade to receive credit for Geometry B.

Weighted Category:  65% Assessments + 35% Assignments
