Course Syllabus
Course Description:
Geometry is a two-trimester course which serves to formalize and extend students' geometric experiences from previous courses. Students will explore geometric transformations, angle measurements, similarity and congruence, and right triangle trigonometry. In addition, students will study probability, polygons, circles, and solids, and utilize inductive and deductive reasoning to construct formal mathematical proofs. Earning credits in both Geometry A and B is a graduation requirement.
Attendance
Attendance has no directly impact students' grades.
On Monday through Thursday, students are marked as present in class for participating on Zoom. When students cannot log onto Zoom, they will be marked as present for completing an attendance task for each specific day.
On Fridays, students are marked as present in class for attempting the Friday test, quiz or task before 2:30PM.
Homework
There will be 2 to 4 homework per week for students to strengthen their understanding and skills.
Students are recommended to attempt the homework on the day that it is assigned, then bring their questions to class the next day.

Most homework are due two school days after it is assigned or on 03/17/2021, whichever is sooner.
Homework will be closed on Canvas and will not be accepted for grading two weeks after its assigned date or on 03/17/2021, whichever is sooner.
Friday Assessments
Every Friday, there will be either a test, quiz or performance task for students to complete between 10AM and 2:30PM.
Students must complete the Friday assessments on time to be marked as present in class for Fridays.

Grading Policy
Grades are usually updated on Skyward every other Fridays.
Biweekly progress report will be sent to students and guardians' emails as listed on Skyward.
Students need to earn at least 40% or a D grade to receive credit for Geometry B.
