There are 3 types of joints (synarthroses/fibrous, amphiarthroses/cartilaginous, diarthroses/synovial) and 6 types of synovial joints (Plane/gliding, Hinge, Pivot, Condyloid, Saddle, & Ball and Socket). Your assignment is to create a representation of the various joints of the body using every day items you have in or around the classroom. You can use clay, construction paper, other office supplies, etc. or you may find something already created that you can just take a picture of. You must MAKE at least 4 of them. The other 4 you can find an example of and take a picture.

  1. Synarthroses/Fibrous
  2. Amphiarthroses/Cartilaginous
  3. Plane/gliding
  4. Hinge
  5. Pivot
  6. Condyloid
  7. Saddle
  8. Ball and Socket

Note: 3-8 are Diarthroses/Synovial, but you will be creating all 6 types of synovial joints to represent it.

When you are done, you must take pictures of your joints, label them with the joint they represent, and submit them here. Please make sure your pictures are clear and your joint types are labeled.
