Topic 23 = Stewart 3.10 = AP Classroom 4.6: Linear Approximation

Linear approximation is just a fancy name for tangent-line approximation. It's still the same thing we've been doing all along, but we're refining our understanding of it and looking at some specific applications.

Differentials are another way of using/thinking about derivatives. The big ideas in both cases are

using derivatives to make estimations about situations and
having ways of judging how accurate those estimations are.

Action Items:

1.Read the Topic 23 Notes below (as needed), and watch the AP Videos for 4.6, and take notes (which means at the very least, writing down, and doing, their examples).

2. HW: 3.10.1: #1, 3-4, 9, 13 - 17 odd, 25, & 43. If you find yourself unable to complete the homework after making a solid attempt, annotating the Powerpoint for Topic 23 and the AP Classroom videos.
