IS-317.A: Introduction to Community Emergency Response Team (CERTs) is an introduction to the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program for those interested in learning about the CERT program for their own knowledge or as a pre-requisite for completing the CERT Basic classroom training that may be available in your community.

At the completion of this course, you should be able to:

Define and describe CERT program.
Identify ways a CERT helps national resilience.
Identify ways CERT members can help their community.
List CERT member roles and responsibilities.
Identify benefits of being a CERT member.
List components of the CERT training program.

The course is designed as an online curriculum with an assessment at the conclusion. As discussed in class, if you do not wish to complete the certification a non-FEMA assessment is available, but it must be taken at school.

Given what we have covered already, you may be able to simply scan through this and take the assessment. That is your choice and may be a legitimate option if you have bene paying attention and will test through FEMA.
