ASSIGNMENT: U1L4 DOS MUCHACHAS Extension Activity (Grammar)

One difference between the two stories is that the narrator switches from 3rd Person to 1st Person. Notice how the first story says things like "she does such and such" and "they do such and such" while the second story says things like "I do such and such" and "we do such and such." 

Read these two paragraphs: 

from the Historieta Principal:

Las dos viven en Honduras. Denia vive en la ciudad de Tegucigalpa, la capital de Honduras y Nelly vive en Flor Azul, un pueblo muy pequeño en el campo. Las dos tienen quince años, pero tienen vidas muy diferentes. 

from the Versión Alternativa:

Nosotras vivimos en Honduras y tenemos quince años.  Las dos tenemos el pelo castaño y los ojos castaños.  A nosotras nos gusta la misma música (¡Enrique Iglesias es tan guapo!) y nos gustan las novelas románticas. Nelly y yo tenemos muchas cosas en común, pero tenemos vidas muy diferentes. 

Notice:

• In the first story viven (they live) changes to vivimos (we live) in the second story.
• In the first story tienen (they have) changes to tenemos (we have) in the second story.

Directions: 

Recall the silly story about the penguin. Imagine that you are Richie's brother or sister. Change the story to be about what the two of you did together. Use the dropdowns to make the necessary changes.
