First, non-project related: I took a long time to get caught up on grades (and still haven't entered test grades or 0s for missing assignments). I will accept whatever you can fix this week while I'm gone. Some things won't be able to be opened again (AP classroom, for example), but anything you're missing that you can fix while I'm out, here's your opportunity. Start with a missing screencast...

I have thoughts for you as you begin to work through your research.

If you are trying to dig into and learn about certain topics but keep finding a dead end, don't submit to the sunk cost fallacy. It's better to switch gears if your topic is leading you nowhere than to keep trying to salvage something that you feel is already doomed.
Potential more resources I've found:
- Steve Mould is a youtuber that tries to explain different phenomena in nature using physics. I saw a cool video on mechanical advantage used by different animals including a (gulp) sling-shot spider: https://www.youtube.com/@SteveMould
- Veritasium is a fantastic youtube channel. I saw a good one on the mechanics of avalanches. That would be an incredible physics project: https://www.youtube.com/@veritasium
Hot Tip: As you see claims made in your resources, look for the source to cite evidence. If they don't provide it, that may be a new thing to look up in another source.
If your topic is cool, but you aren't sure how to present it or what hands-on thing to do, worry about that later. Do the research on it, and learn the concepts really well...that will give us fertile ground for figuring out how to represent it next week.

Thoughts for individuals that have come to mind over the weekend:

Ben: does the hot dog need to levitate? Could it be held in the coil on a skewer?

Christian: Remember, planetary motion (including Earth's) is physics, so it'll be an important part of your research

Boat group (girls): why don't you guys connect with Jen Ben in the pool to see if you can do the presentation you're imagining doing during finals week in there. If you can't get permission in there, it would give us enough time to figure out a different plan.

Boat group (boys): check with Mr. Pearson to get a stream table. I think it might be okay for what you want. If it isn't, there is a kiddie pool in Mr. Pollard's room (141) that is ok for you to use. Only put the bare minimum of water in it you need or we will have some cracked skulls in there.

I love all of your ideas. These projects are going to be fun.
