have a sense of the goals of the entire unit
know the definition of a polynomial, including the standard form
be able to classify a polynomial by degree and type
identify the leading coefficient
identify end behavior
identify extrema, intervals of increasing and decreasing
Know: ALL POLYNOMIAL FUNCTIONS HAVE THE DOMAIN ALL REAL NUMBERS!

By now, you should be comfortable with linear and quadratic functions. These functions are both types of polynomial functions. In Algebra 2, we expand our understanding to include functions raised to positive integer powers (not just 1 and 2); these are called polynomial functions.
