ROBOTICS A - PSC048

Course Description: This course is for students interested in an introduction to robotics. The class is an interdisciplinary class which covers design, assembly, programming and testing of a robot. Students will learn how to write programs to make the robot do different tasks. Optionally, students can learn about using a variety of tools including 3D printers, laser cutters, or milling machines to make or modify parts used on the robot. At the end of the year, students are given the rules of a robot competition. Their job is to design a robot for that competition. The skills they learned throughout the course are applied to this robot. The competition robot allows the students an opportunity to use their creativity, knowledge and skill to come up with different solutions to the competition.

Late work:

I have planned this course to help you cover the content within the trimester so the assignment due dates are to help you stay on track. That being said life happens and sometimes you need to adjust your schedule so I will accept late work with no penalties for the first half of the trimester by January 29th at 11:59pm and for the last half of the trimester by March 12th at 11:59pm. If you are starting to fall behind I will check in with you to see how I can help and if that is not enough then I may involve your guardian to help.
