Course Information
Physics B will focus on the study of Energy: the nature and conservation of energy, energy fields including gravitation and electromagnetism, and energy transmission in the form of waves. This course will include both conceptual and mathematical studies, using basic algebra. Students will be given assignments which include command terms from the International Baccalaureate (IB) program which are defined as follows:

Grading Policy - Classwork and Assessments will carry the following weights to determine overall grade:
Assessments (60%) Quizzes, tests, scientific writing assessments.
Classwork (30%) Daily assignments & activities
Final Exam (10%)
Expectations:
- All students are expected to participate in classwork. Incomplete assignments will receive partial credit. Assigned work is expected to be turned in by the due date, late penalties may be applied.
- Classwork will be excused on days students have excused absences; however, students are responsible for understanding and passing assessments which cover all learning goals.
- Quizzes may be retaken for up to full credit (100%) for one week following the test date, and for successively reduced credit each week thereafter. No retest on final exam.

A: 94 – 100% A-: 90 – 93% B+: 87 – 89% B: 84 – 86% B-: 80 – 83% C+: 77 – 79% C: 74 – 76% C: 70 – 73% D+: 67 - 69% D: 60 – 66% F: < 59%
