Course Information
Course Description-Mannschreck
Our core curriculum is called VOCES and we use a collection of stories called Nuestra Historia for our core learning.
This is the first of two trimesters of second-year Spanish.
We use a curriculum called Voces which is an online platform shared and practiced through our Canvas Learning Management System.
I post most of the Voces activities and stories in Canvas.
We use the actual Voces site occasionally, along with other web platforms like Senor Wooly, Kahoot, Quizlet, and EdPuzzle. Detailed instructions on how to access them are provided within Canvas Modules.
Earbuds are useful for some of our activities and assignments. I have them in the classroom so no worries if you don't have some handy.
Grading Policy-Mannschreck
ALL grades should be referenced in SKYWARD.
You can check for comments and whether something has been graded in Canvas, but the SKYWARD grades are what reflect your progress and final grade in the class.
Message Sra M with questions.
Grade Categories are weighted:
Assessments: 50%
Assignments:35%
Participation: 15%
DUE DATES FOR ASSIGNMENTS VS CLOSING DATES FOR MODULES
Students do not get deductions for late work. (but..)
We have DUE DATES posted for all assignments -which is the BEST date to try to have the work completed(to stay on track and not get behind)
Then we have CLOSING DATES which allow you to complete work with no deductions until that time.
Each Module has a CLOSING date-work can be submitted UNTIL the Module closes and NOT after that date and time.
All Assignments/Assessments are posted for about 2 weeks. Full credit is awarded until the CLOSING DATE of a Module.
Once a Module closes-work is not eligible for completion and is entered as a zero in the grade book.
All students concerned about earning credit should message Sra M for a SPECIFIC plan of work completion.
Grading Scale:
The grading scale for World Languages has reverted back to the pre-Covid standard A, B, C, D, and F grade percentages-click on the link above for more details.
