What can you do now to prepare for an apprenticeship?
Typically you will apply for an apprenticeship once you have completed your high school diploma. But here are a few things you can do to prepare until then:
- Get a C or above in most of your high school math classes.
- Prepare your resume
- Practice interviews, many apprenticeships have their interview questions on their websites
- Take as many CTE classes that your high school offers. (For example: Advanced manufacturing, Welding, Pre-Engineering, Robotics, etc.) Talk to your high school counselor about getting into these classes.
- Participate in a pre-apprenticeship program. In the Renton School District, we offer AJAC.
