Audience Appropriate Format

Today, we will start planning our own actions! However, a crucial part of our plan is addressing our audience appropriately. As we do this work, we will talk about the specifics of this, but today we will start with the basics: the format. 

When you are trying to convince an audience to do something, you will want to use a format that they feel comfortable engaging with, and that you feel confident in using. You need to be understood in order to be convincing.

For example, if you were going to ask the school board to do something, a TikTok would probably not be your strongest platform as they are an older and more formal audience. However, if you were trying to convince your peers and classmates to do something, TikTok might be exactly what you need to get the word out!
