Entry Task: Add an Author's Note (A/N)

In fanfiction, an author's note is a space where you speak directly to your audience! It's not a part of every fanfiction, but it is in most. This is how readers usually decide whether they will want to read your fic or not! Give them a taste of your story by writing a thoughtful author's note.

In an author's note, you will want to include the following:

• The Premise
  • What canon are you writing in?
    • Example: "This is a Twilight fic"
  • Provide copyright disclaimers! Give credit to the canon material, as well as anywhere else you got content from, such as song lyrics, fanart, and more.
    • Example: "DISCLAIMER: I do not own Twilight or the characters! All rights belong to Stephenie Meyer"
  • What type of fic is it?
    • Example: "This is a Twilight fic in an alternate universe where the timeline changes and Bella becomes a vampire just before the end of New Moon"
      • Note: I do not spoil my whole story here! I just give them an idea of what will be different.
• Other Major Content Notes
  • What relationships will be explored? Are there any ships included in this story?
    • Example: "Bella/Jacob ship"
  • Additional changes from the canon that will be important to know right away
    • Example: "Fae AU"
  • Warnings about potentially upsetting content
    • Example: "Content Warning: Death"
• Personal Comments
  • Is there anything about why you wrote this fic you'd like readers to know?
    • Example: "I really wanted to explore the ways Bella herself seems supernatural before she's ever a vampire. I think she has more of her own story lying beneath the surface."
  • Feedback Requests
    • Example: "This is my first fic, so please leave me a review on how well I did keeping the characters in-canon with their behaviors!"
  • Thank your readers! :)
