Introduction

This task is designed to help you decide on what format will work best for you as you navigate the school year with both digital and paper options for storing notes and work for each class.

Directions

1. Open the article, Pros and Cons of Typed, Digitally Handwritten, and Paper Notes.

2. Read through the article and/or watch the video linked to the top. Feel free to move around and find a comfortable spot in the class, hallway, or courtyard. Use headphones/ear buds if you want to listen.

3. If you're considering using a:

Digital binder: Click through this presentation from Ms. Price on how to set up a digital binder and watch this video. Feel free to search elsewhere for videos and tips for how to set up your folder, and of course - see me.

Physical binder: View this resource and watch this video (while a tiny bit outdated and cheesy, it covers the main points. Feel free to search elsewhere for videos and tips for how to set up your AVID binder, keeping in mind the requirements for the Weekly Binder check.

4. Keeping in mind the requirements for the Weekly Binder Checks, decide on a method you want to use for maintaining your AVID binder.

5. Sign up on the AVID Binder Sign-up Sheet what your preference will be. If you select physical binder, please indicate what materials you need.
