Course Information
Course Description/Syllabus
This class is designed to give you a foundational understanding of the principles of marketing. Class content will help prepare you for further studies in the field of marketing. Use the digital textbook and other materials to become more familiar with what marketing is, how marketing influences business decisions and consumer actions, and how to use principles of marketing to present yourself as you build a professional profile.
Topics covered in this class include the following:
Principles of marketing Branding
Ethics Product, Promotion, Place, Price
Research Digital marketing
Targeting / segmentation Social media marketing
Consumer behavior A marketing plan
Positioning Personal branding
Class Structure / Assignments
A digital textbook is used for this course. You will need to get access information from your teacher in order to access the book and other class material. Access to the textbook and many of the class resources is available through the Edify platform.
Class will include work for you to finish alone as well as activities and assignments that will involve you working with a partner or in groups.
For this class, you will be assigned chapters to read and assignments to complete, including in-class activities, work in and out of class, chapter quizzes, and a final test.

Through the Edify platform you will have access — in addition to the textbook chapters — to chapter lecture slides, directions for assignments, a Video Case Study with accompanying Case File student assignment and Instructor Guide, Expert Session videos by professionals, chapter quizzes, and the final test.
Class Policies:
No cell phones should be out during class unless instructed for an assignment

A 100-94% C 75-73%
A- 93-90% C- 72-70%
B+ 89-86% D+ 69-66%
B 85-83% D 65-63%
B- 82-80% D- 62-60%
