Course Information
In biology, students study a variety of life processes and learn how different organisms meet the challenges of living in their environment. Major biological concepts focus include homeostasis, energy transfer and use, the relationship between structure and function, and change over time. Students will also practice scientific experimental design, evidence gathering, and analysis and conclusion writing.
Assessments (60%) Quizzes, tests, scientific writing assessments.
Classwork (30%) Daily assignments & activities
Final Exam (10%)
- All students are expected to participate in classwork. Assigned work is expected to be turned in on or before the date due, late penalties may be applied.
- Quizzes may be retaken. Unit tests may be retaken for successively reduced credit. No retest on final exam.
Grade Scale
A: 94 – 100% A-: 90 – 93% B+: 87 – 89% B: 84 – 86% B-: 80 – 83% C+: 77 – 79% C: 74 – 76% C: 70 – 73% D+: 67 - 69% D: 60 – 66% F: 59% & below
