Course Description: 

Language Arts 11/12-B focuses on reading comprehension, analysis and evaluation, oral language, and writing skills based on works of American literature. The EDGE curriculum, by National Georgraphic, is used as the main curriculum source. 

Students continue to build on strategies assisting with reading comprehension and writing skill (graphic organizers, brainstroming lists, charts, notes, analysis, questioning, compare and contrast). 

Assistance with and access to general education reading/writing assingments and projects is given utilizing strategies taught in Focused Language Arts. 

Grading Policy: 

Students receive assignment due dates however late work is accepted and extended time given depending on individual IEP accomodations. Students are encouraged and guided to meet due dates to keep up with the pace of class and learning.
