Agenda for Today:

We'll meet in Zoom, to check on grades, adjust notifications in Canvas, build community, and complete an assignment linking your school email addresses.

DO NOW:

After you have logged into Zoom and opened this page in Canvas, type one thing into the chat that you did over the three-day weekend. (Don't say "sleep," "ate food," or something boring like that!)

Reminders:

1. You should have three assignments submitted and graded in Canvas and Skyward: Eagle Way Chat (9.2), Getting to Know You, and Informal Presentation.

Check Canvas to see upcoming assignments, written feedback, missing assignments, and individual grades.
Check Skyward to see overall grade, missing assignments, and individual grades.

We will be adding in "zeros" for missing assignments after 4 pm today to give you an accurate picture of your grade for this class. We will be lenient on late work for now. You can turn in any of the three assignments before 4 pm today with no late penalty. (And you should!)

If need to reset your login/password, click "forgot login/password" and enter your Microsoft/Outlook Email: abc.def000@rentonstudent.us

2. Change notifications in Canvas - To change Canvas settings, click on "Account," and then "Notifications. Set "Submission Comment" to "check mark" instead of "clock." Check mark = right away, clock = end of day, calendar = end of week.

3. Practice checking for submission comments and responding back. Click on the "Informal Presentation" assignment. Under "Submission Comments" on the right side, click "Add comment." If you turned it in, you should see a submission comment. Click "Add comment" and type anything you want. You can reply back to something we wrote, or you can simply write: "I am practicing typing a comment." If you haven't submitted this assignment, type something like: "Sorry it's late. I will turn it in by ___ today!"

4. Skim over Course Syllabus together and ask any questions.

Scavenger Hunt: Important Item:

1. Turn your camera on if it's not on already (you can step out of the shot first).

2. Leaving the camera on, step away and locate something in your home that is important to you (and that is small enough to place in front of the camera).

3. When you return to your computer, hold the important object in front of the camera. (You can stay out of the frame if you want to.)

4. Be prepared to share why this thing is important to you!
